The following is an out of universe timeline for the events of Terrafirma. In universe, most people in the “present” year of 375PR wouldn’t be aware of most of these events, or would at least have altered, even incorrected views of events.

The Distant Past

This era is before the memories of most people. This is before written history for most races. Many of the following are subject to debate as there isn’t a formal timeline anyone in universe would be able to find.

  • First came Bahamut and Tiamat, and with them, dragons were born.
  • Soon after, a now unnamed Dwarven King rose with the birth of dwarves.
  • Gnomes were born and soon created their city Chunq.
  • Elves were born.
  • Most are unsure on the actual details of this event, but a large meteorite seemed to fall from the sky and land somewhere in the deep caves of modern day Verdaunte. Mind Flayers.
  • Halfings were born.
  • The dwarves found their city Planak. Soon, subsections of dwarves break off from the main group to explore the seas and found their own city, Mountport.
  • Humans were born and created the agricultural city of Django. Cowboys break off with domesticated animals.
  • Camel Centaurs were born.
  • Elves found their city Silvergrove and begin research on magic.
  • Bahamut and Tiamat split
  • The gnomes learned how to tame giant rabbits to use as steeds. They found a new city called Washinport and add a seaport.
  • Humans meet dwarves and a subsection of them join the seafaring dwarves. Humans create the city Cuidad.
  • Tabaxi are born and found the city Quarger.

The Golden Age

The era marks the beginning of literacy and education. This is when exploration starts and different peoples begin interacting. Education is on the rise as well as new scientific and magical discoveries.

  • Tabaxi learn literacy and begin writing history.
  • Elves send emissaries to all cities via teleportation and offer building portals for a fee.
    • Gnomes reject their offer.
    • Humans accept their offer.
    • Halflings reject their offer.
    • Dwarves accept their offer.
  • Dwarves develop runic magic and black powder. Seafaring dwarves begin exploring the seas to a higher degree.
  • The Deep Freeze begins.
  • Half elves and catgirls are born.
  • The city Quarger creates the Giant Temple of the Sphinx.
  • The elvish Raven Queen makes her way to Mountport and establishes the Mountport School of Spellcasting.
  • Many of the seafaring dwarves and humans separate even more and become pirates, founding the pirate city J’arr.
  • Deep Gnomes are born and create the underground city called Rustling Ridge.
  • Humans create the cities Port-luck and Empalme.
  • The order of Catgirl Knights are created, the Sphinx’s Claw. They create the city Rasholm and become specialized in warfare.
  • Dragonborn and Goblins are born.
  • Dwarves create the city Upori.
  • Firbolgs are born.
  • Tabaxi create Quarger Acatemy.
  • The Deep Freeze ends.
  • Firbolgs create city Graveda.
  • Aarakocra are born and create the city Zil.
  • Kenku are born and create the city Roc.
  • Tabaxi create city Rumb’vitkatz and develop smithing.
  • Seafaring dwarves create city Sever-Port
  • Dwarf Melora creates the Meloranites and the Meloran Temple in Upori.
  • Rustling Ridge creates an army and researches weaponry.
  • Kenku create Roc Temple.
  • Mountport creates bridges.
  • Tabaxi create city Small-port.
  • Mountport is destroyed.
  • Planak creates an army and advances it’s warfare.
  • Rustling Ridge researches magic and science.
  • All nations of the world join hands to create Arkanon.
    • Arkanon is advanced in magic, technology, warfare, architecture, and agriculture.
    • Warfored are created.
    • The Arkanon Academy for the Arcane Arts is created.
  • Tritons are born and create the city of Bubble.
  • Arkanon creates wonderous walls.
  • Changelings are born and create the city of Nowhere.

The Final Days

This era is marked by the Elemental War and the last period before The Rupture. Lasted for 2 years.

  • Portals to the plane of Fire and Earth open and the Elemental War begins.
  • Dwarves create cities Kning and Jordful. Expand Planak’s’ understanding of military.
  • Orcs create scattered trading outposts.
  • Gnomes create underwater city of Mira.
  • Goblin String is born and creates the city Wool on the back of a turtle.
  • Order of human knights are created and they team up with the Sphinx’s Claw to create an outpost, Portal Base, outside of the Earth portal.
  • Django is advanced in military.
  • High Priest of the Giant Temple of the Sphinx, Long Cat, creates leonin.
  • Earth Plane portal creates a city and invades Jordful.
  • The dwarves contact their allies and send their troops from Planak to back up Jordful. After succeeded, they build defenses around the portal and learn artillery in Jordful. Planak creates another army.
  • Gnomes create city called the Foggy Glades.
  • Advance city Bubble, water breathing magic.
  • Goblins learn potioneering and turtle driving. Wool raises an army to attack Jordful.
  • Humans defend Jordful from goblins.
  • Portal Base creates walls.
  • Protestant Catgirls break away because of their dislike of militarism and create a city called Katnipp.
  • Fire elementals create an army.
  • Orcs create the city Ghakh.
  • Tritons domesticate sharks and can ride them.
  • Goblin civilization learn guerilla warfare. Goblins create the city Frog and raise an army there and in Wool.
  • Human relations break down as they are spread too thin and in fighting breaks out. Portal Base improves its understanding of magic. Django gains siege weaponry.
  • Rumb’vitkatz, Katnipp, Quarger, and Rasholm create walls.
  • Elves closed the elemental portals.

The Rupture

Lasted for 5 years.

  • Portals open outside of all major cities. Demons from Hell pour out. 18 armies lay siege to all major cities.
  • Jordful is abandoned and is destroyed by demons. The Jordful army retreats to Planak and the two armies are able to drive the demons out of Planak. They construct additional walls and destroy the portal.
  • Chunq is abandoned, all gnomes flee to Arkanon.
  • Cuidad and Empalme are abandoned and begin fleeing to Arkanon. Django defeated the demons but cannot destroy the portal. Portal Base is destroyed.
  • Rumb’vitkatz and Quarger defeat the demons and destroyed the portals.
  • Silvergrove gathers an army and defeats the demons, destroying their portal.
  • Elves send aid to the halflings.
  • Warforged rush to defend Port-luck while Arkanon is building more armies.
  • Upori creates an army while Planak Planak’s army marches to defend it. Demons are defeated and their portal is destroyed. In Kning more armies are being created.
  • The tritons form an army.
  • The goblins create the Goblin Art Museum.
  • Demons are driven from Port-luck and the portal destroyed. The warforged march to the orcs. Django creates an army and gathers resources for Arkanon.
  • Demons are tricked out of Nowhere and Roc, their portals are destroyed.
  • Silvergrove creates an army and sends them to destroy the portals at Empalme and Portal Base.
  • Arkanon is destroyed.
  • Warfoged kill the demons in Arkanon and destroy their portals.
  • Three dwarven armies march on Kning and destroy the portal.
  • Humans reclaim Cuidad but can’t destroy the portal. Their relationships with other civilizations is in shambles.
  • Orcs and warforged reclaim Ghakh and destroy the portal.
  • The Sphinx’s Claw reclaims Katnipp and Foggy Glades and destroys the respective portals. They move to Empalme, but retreat back to Foggy Glades.
  • The elves reclaim Empalme and destroy the portal.
  • Demons attack Zil and leave it in ruins. They also attack Bubble, but are defeated.
  • Dwarves and humans team up to drive the demons out of Django and Cuidad destroying the portal for good. The humans get over some of their anger at the dwarves.
  • Tritons shut the portal in Bubble.
  • Goblins open Book Think Place in Wool.
  • Humans retreat to Empalme and request catgirl assistance. Empalme raises an army and advance to Portal Base.
  • Warforged destroy the portal in Small-port.
  • The Sphinx’s Claw raise another army and advance on Portal Base with the humans. They destroy the demons and their portal. Another catgirl army fight demons at Graveda and destroy the portal, then return to Rumb’vitkatz. Rumb’vitkatz advances in engineering and architecture and creates a wonder: Vatakatz Cathedral.
